AI Feedback

Understand how AI feedback works, track generation status, and manage feedback critiques.

How AI Feedback Works

When a student submits an answer, the AI generates personalized feedback:

  1. The AI analyzes the student's response
  2. It retrieves relevant context from your course documents
  3. Based on your rubric settings, it evaluates the answer
  4. It generates constructive feedback in your chosen tone
  5. The feedback is delivered to the student
Feedback Generation Status

Track the status of AI feedback generation:

PendingWaiting in queue for processing
ProcessingAI is analyzing and generating feedback
CompletedFeedback successfully generated
FailedGeneration failed - can be retried
Retrying Failed Feedback

If feedback generation fails:

  1. Navigate to the Feedback section
  2. Filter by "Failed" status to see problematic submissions
  3. Click the "Retry" button on individual items
  4. Or use "Retry All Failed" for bulk retry

Tip: Failures are usually temporary. If retrying doesn't work after a few attempts, contact support.

Feedback Critiques

Students can request critiques of their AI feedback:

  • Students click "Request Critique" on their feedback
  • The AI re-evaluates the feedback for accuracy
  • A detailed critique is generated
  • You can review critiques in the Feedback Critiques section
Managing Feedback

The Feedback section allows you to:

  • View all generated feedback across your module
  • Filter by status, student, or question
  • See processing times and queue status
  • Identify patterns in feedback quality
  • Export feedback data for review
